Adam McCloskey
Director
Adam McCloskey is the Director of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at LSU. Prior to his appointment, he was the associate director for the Fort Walton Beach and Panama City office isince 2017. In 2019, he was the winner of the Florida SBDC Network State Star, the highest accolade possible for a SBDC Consultant. He was the recipient of the first UWF College of Business Dean's Choice Award in 2021. His areas of client concentration include business valuation, acquisitions, industry benchmarking, cash flow management, and advertising.
Prior to his work with the SBDC network, he had a successful media career. His experience in radio includes launching a sports talk station in Albuquerque, serving as the program director for multiple stations on the Florida Panhandle, and helping local businesses develop their marketing and branding strategies as a production director for six years.
As the marketing and research coordinator for a large cable company, he worked with small businesses to design and maximize effectiveness for television, search engine marketing, digital, and mobile advertising campaigns.
In 2010, Adam received a B.A. in Economics & Telecommunications and film from the University of Florida. Georgia Southern University awarded him a Master of Science in Applied Economics in 2013 with concentrations in financial economics and regional economic development. He received the designation of Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council and Associate Business Continuity Professional from DRI International. He has achieved certifications in Google AdWords and Analytics and is a Business Certified Appraiser with the International Society of Business Appraisers working towards the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from NACVA.
