Michelle Y. Talbert is a Business Consultant at the LSBDC at Xavier University of Louisiana. Michelle specializes in small business startup, strategic planning, operations, marketing and sales. Before joining the LSBDC Michelle spent 10 years as a corporate attorney in Washington, DC, and another 10 years as an entrepreneur, based in South Florida.
For over a decade, Michelle has served as a trusted business advisor, providing business consulting services to solopreneurs and small business owners as they launch and scale, going from feeling isolated and confused in their businesses to having community and clarity.
Michelle has trained over 20,000 founders and CEOs, curating communities of business owners through workshops and trainings with various national and international organizations and nonprofits. In January 2020 Michelle opened the first coworking space in her city. She exited the company by selling to three coworking space members in May 2024.
Michelle graduated from Cornell University and received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a business certificate from Wharton.
